AT&T Grows IoT Ecosystem, Integrates Developer Solutions With Cisco, Intel And Microsoft Technology
Developers Use AT&T IoT Services with Industry-Leading Technologies to Build IoT Solutions Faster

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* is working with leading companies to give developers a succinct set of tools for building IoT apps. We're integrating AT&T IoT Services with Cisco, Intel and Microsoft technologies. Developers will be able to access the companies' services from one place to create more meaningful solutions.

Bringing multiple solutions together will let developers take advantage of more leading technologies. Our developer tools, like AT&T Flow Designer and AT&T M2X, now work with:

  • Cisco – We're working with Cisco to combine powerful IoT tools and technologies that can help business more easily deploy and monetize IoT apps. Developers using the AT&T Global SIM, AT&T Control Center and AT&T IoT Services now have access to Cisco's Fog computing solutions. They can use AT&T Flow Designer and AT&T M2X with Cisco's Fog agent, Fog apps and Fog analytics. Combined, these technologies make it quicker and simpler for developers to analyze, send data and build end-to-end IoT solutions. This collaboration expands our IoT relationship with Cisco beyond smart cities into asset management, transportation and retail.
  • Intel – We're collaborating to bring AT&T Flow Designer, AT&T M2X and the Intel® IoT Developer Kit out to developers. The goal is to enable developers, system integrators and IoT specialists to have a complete set of ready-made tools to build their IoT solutions securely. AT&T and Intel will also continue to work together on future projects to develop scalable IoT solutions for the developer community.
  • Microsoft – We're integrating our IoT solutions with Microsoft's cloud, analytics, and visualization tools. Developers that connect their devices through the AT&T Global SIM and AT&T Control Center will be able to store their data in the Microsoft Azure cloud. They will be able to use AT&T M2X and AT&T Flow Designer and access Microsoft Azure, big data, BI, advanced analytics and machine learning tools to transform their data into intelligent action.

"We're continually expanding our portfolio of IoT tech innovators, collaborators and capabilities," said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, Internet to Things (IoT), AT&T Business Solutions. "We're proud to have over 10,000 developers building solutions on our IoT Services platform. Our collaboration with industry leaders gives developers a complete set of tools to build IoT solutions that help companies stand out from their competitors."

In 2013, we opened the AT&T Foundry for IoT innovation in Plano, Texas to foster collaboration between developers and tech companies. Since then, developers have brought new concepts to life –smart trashcans, connected shipping pallets, intelligent lampposts and more.

We're also launching programs with systems integrators and device manufacturers to provide their expertise to further help developer communities.

We've doubled our number of connected devices from 13 million to more than 26 million in the last 4 years. We continue to develop IoT technology for vehicles, supply chain, drones, equipment, machinery and smart cities. The solutions include connected cars, heavy equipment, asset management, smart meters and fleets, as well as smart city applications.
